Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) is Canada’s premier nuclear science and technology organization, and a world leader in developing nuclear technology for peaceful and innovative applications. Using our unique expertise, we are restoring and protecting the environment, we are advancing clean energy technology, and our medical breakthroughs continue to improve the health of people around the world.
CNL’s Chalk River Laboratories represent the largest single complex within Canada’s science and technology infrastructure. Located 180 km north-west of Ottawa, the site contains several license-listed nuclear facilities, and more than 50 other unique facilities and laboratories.
G4SR-5 is pleased to acknowledge CNL as our conference host sponsor.
The Canadian Nuclear Society (CNS) promotes the exchange of information on all aspects of nuclear science and technology and its applications. This includes nuclear power generation, fuel production, uranium mining and refining, management of radioactive wastes and used fuel.
The Canadian Nuclear Society was established in 1979 as “The technical society of the Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA)”. In 1998 the CNS incorporated independently as a federal, not-for-profit corporation.
The Generation IV and Small Reactor Technology Division (G4SR) is one of ten technical divisions in the Canadian Nuclear Society. G4SR aims to promote the sharing of public domain technical resources and information related to the design, development and deployment of advanced ‘Generation IV’ and small reactors, including Small Modular Reactors, Micro Modular Reactors and research reactors.
This includes information related to nuclear policy frameworks, advanced materials, safety analysis methodologies, simulation tools, and results obtained from research reactors. The division does this through topical webinars and the organization of the bi-annual G4SR international conference series.
